WordPress Jeopardy

Yesterday at WordCamp Ann Arbor 2019, I hosted three rounds of WordPress Jeopardy as a fun way to conclude our event. To make it possible I created a beginner, an intermediate, and an advanced Jeopardy game using a free tool I found called Jeopardylabs.

I worked pretty hard on the questions and so in the spirit of open source, I thought I would share the games so other people can play them if they want to. Here they are:

If you want to use them, here are a few things you should know:

  • The questions turned out to be pretty hard. The beginner game was especially difficult. The games should probably be Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert respectively. Or you can change the questions. The Jeopardy app lets you essentially clone the game and modify it.
  •  There is a category which is all about WordCamp Ann Arbor specifically, in the intermediate game.
  • There are some questions which are kind of in there because of the people we had present.

I’d like to thank Brian Richards for helping me with a few questions.

If you use it, comment and let me know!

  1. Hi Kyle,

Would it be possible to use the WP Jeopardy for a nonprofit we do work for? Also where is the app i.e. “The Jeopardy app lets you essentially clone the game and modify it.”

    Thanks,

    Harry

    1. Hey Harry! Yeah, of course you can use these for whatever you want! If you click on the links to one of the games in my post, you’ll see a link to Jeopardylabs where you can make your own.

  2. I would like to use the JeopardyLabs template for a WordPress site I am developing. How do you get the teams div for scorekeeping to copy over to WordPress?

    1. Hey Kate. Thanks for the question. Not sure I understand it completely. You want to have a Jeopardy game on your WordPress site? That’s not something I’ve done. In this post, I described how I made a Jeopardy game about WordPress but it doesn’t use WordPress.
